Now back to our regular programming.

I incorporated into an LLC today and applied for my EIN through the IRS.  I'm just waiting for my employer ID so I can begin working for various companies from the comfort of my home answering tech questions and/or selling "crap".  It's actually a pretty cool setup but does take a bit of money to get started.  I'm doing all of this through Arise.
I decided that 24 years of working as a nurse was enough, it's time for that 'career change'.  The interesting thing is I can try to convince individuals to come to work for me.  All they have to do is take the certification course, but then it gets complicated.  So, maybe I'll just stay in this by myself.
Actually this could fit in perfectly with our plans to move to Spain.  I'm going to have to look into that.  I know most of the agents who answer your calls are not located in a 'call center' (that was an old trend), but I believe they are physically located in the US.  Could they do the same to a number to a number in Spain?  I'll let you know what I find out.

Hoy, me pase el dia sin hacer nada.  Lo mas seguro es que haga lo mismo manaña.  La vida es muy aburita aqui en este barrio.

Economic Prosperity Abounds

Well, I remain unemployed,  I've been sending out resumé's to practically everybody who I can think of in the Miami area.  I prefer to work in Psychiatry and I actually prefer Corrections.  In the mean time,  I'm collecting unemployment compensation.
In an effort to make myself more marketable, I'm taking an online certification in Case Management.  I could still work in a Forensic Facility as a Case Manager, I think that would be fun.
I'm also looking into just getting out of Nursing entirely and becoming a tech support person (working from home).  One of our desires is to move to Spain, and I could do that there too.  I also have the option to teach English in Spain or anywhere in Europe, but I'd prefer the Barcelona area.
I'll keep you updated as to when I become gainfully employed again.

Bienvenidos de Miami

My partner and I like to Travel.  We've been to China, Japan, Ecuador--The Galapagos, Spain, France, Italy, Portugal and England.  Our last trip consisted of a week in Barcelona a 2 week Western Mediterranean Cruise and our last port of call was Southampton.  We also made arrangements to stay a week in London before returning to boring old Miami.  In the many times that we've been to Spain (Vigo, Madrid, Sevilla, Granada, Toledo, Barcelona and Valencia) we have fallen in LOVE with the country and have set our goal to move there by 2010.  Of all the cities we've been to Barcelona is our choice or maybe a little town a little further up La Costa Brava.
I feel as though the different sources of news in the US don't always tell the 'whole' story.  I try to read sources from El Pais, BBC, Australian news sources, etc.  You will find you get a much rounder picture of what is going on in the world.
I've mentioned that we want to move to Spain.  We've done a lot of research and have a lot of answers, if you wish to ask.  Driver's License, Visas, Taxes, Citizenship (you NEVER lose your US citizenship even if you gain citizenship in another country), The Weak Dollar vs the Euro or Pound--you do a bit better with Euros than Pounds.
Even when I become an ex-pat, I'll still retain the right to vote in the US.  While I'm still here, I am a Liberal Democrat.  I have been a fan of Barack Obama ever since I read "The Audacity of Hope".  I donate on a regular basis to his election campaign and to DNC.  I also still donate to Hillary as she still has a lot of debt left over from her run (I also think she's going to be Obama's VP choice).
Ever visit Miami?  I've lived here since 1981 and LOVE it.  Thinking of taking a vacation here?  I can tell you a lot of things to do.  Just a bit of advice:  If you resent not being understood when you speak English in your own country, don't come here.  If you want to visit the financial hub of the Caribbean, Central America and South America and would like to meet people from all over the world and would like to experience a little bit of Cuba, Nicaragua, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina or Peru--come on down and expect to have TONS of fun.
